KS3/KS4 Teacher of Science in Germany 

The International School of Stuttgart is a non-profit Kindergarten through 12th grade, CIS and NEASC accredited, IB World School offering an international curriculum to a student body of about 800 from over 30 nations. Among its strengths are its student-centered and holistic approach to learning and its commitment to professional development and emphasis on student pastoral care.

ISS is looking to hire a full-time KS3/KS4 Teacher of Science (Chemistry or Physics Specialist Preferred) to begin August 2014. This position is initially for two years.

Successful candidates should

  • have qualified teacher status, certified to teach Chemistry/ Physics and General Sciences
  • be able to teach KS3 and KS4 Science classes
  • have a minimum of 3 years experience teaching Science at Middle and High School level
  • be confident in the teaching of laboratory skills and be knowledgeable about lab safety aspects
  • have experience of working as a homeroom tutor
  • be enthusiastic about joining a school that is in an exciting phase of its development
  • be committed to collaborative approach to working with colleagues and be able to work in a team environment

The following would be an advantage:

  • experience in using technology in the classroom
  • experience in curriculum development and documentation
  • preference will be given to candidates who are experienced and / or trained MYP/DP teachers

The International School of Stuttgart (ISS) is an international, co-educational school in Stuttgard, Germany, delivering the International Baccalaureate programme to children from Kindergarten-grade 12 on campuses in the Degerloch and Sindelfingen area of the city. Over 800 students from more than 45 countries attend the school.

ISS views literacy and language acquisition as an integrated and developmental process. In the Middle Years, ISS offers German, French, Spanish and English as additional languages.
