Job overview

We are looking for a wonderful teacher to join Wickham Court School in West Wickham.

You will be simply brilliant inside and outside the classroom and have exceptional commitment, drive and passion for the education of primary school, KS2 children.

About Us:

Wickham Court School is a family-based, co-educational senior and preparatory school with an outstanding reputation, which places the careful, nurturing and rounded education of the children in our care at its core. We encourage impressive results from happy children for a fee, which we strive to keep accessible to many. We will always remain true to this philosophy whilst striving to constantly improve what we deliver.

Constantly looking for ways to improve the teaching and learning environment for the school, Wickham Court forms part of the Alpha Schools Group, which includes ten other schools surrounding London and in the North of the country. All of our schools have an outstanding reputation and often feature very highly in league tables for Best Preps in the UK.

What We're Looking For:

You will be an experienced KS4 Teacher who is outstanding in the classroom. Understanding that these are the crucial years towards the GCSE examinations and helping our pupils to gain the very best grades possible. Our classes are small and our teaching very much tutorial college style, we aim for our pupils to leave us as confident, happy, articulate and enthusiastic individuals.

Be it NQT or seasoned practitioner, the key quality we are searching for is the 'wow factor' in the classroom - can you grab the attention of the whole class and keep it whilst delivering outstanding teaching to each child? Are you prepared to think carefully about how to enhance your lessons, your classroom, and your pastoral care? Do you have the passion to 'roll-up your sleeves' and 'get stuck-in' in every aspect of our small school? If you do, we'd like to talk to you.

Candidate:

  • Truly exceptional KS4 History teacher
  • Ambition and vision for developing our school.
  • Able to motivate and develop a class of learners.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of schools and commitment outside the classroom.
  • Entrepreneurial and autonomous approach.
  • Experienced & outstanding teacher.

Our school:

  • Co-educational
  • Non-selective
  • Single Form entry (maximum 20 pupils per class)
  • Excellent results
  • A happy, enthusiastic community.

Closing date: Friday 24th July 2014

About Wickham Court Preparatory School

Wickham Court Preparatory School is an independent, co-educational day school for children from Nursery through to Year 6. Located in West Wickham, Kent, Wickham Court is proud to offer an amazing education, within a historically and culturally rich setting.

Our pupils are energetic, engaged, and happy; they benefit from the skill and expertise of dedicated, experienced teachers and small class sizes.

Wickham Court not only provides valuable and practical learning tools but also opens many doors and windows to the wonder that is a private education. Wickham Court reflects the sense of tradition and timelessness associated with education itself, but it also profits from the best of modern texts and technology. Most importantly, it profits from the life and the energy that our children bring with them.

Our Ethos

Our school not only provides valuable and practical learning tools but also opens many doors and windows to the wonder that is a private education. Wickham Court reflects the sense of tradition and timelessness associated with education itself, but it also profits from the best of modern texts and technology. Most importantly, it profits from the life and the energy that our children bring with them.

We believe small classes and individualised attention for all our pupils is essential for learning to flourish and we recognise that education is very much a partnership between pupils, the school and families.

Finally, while our focus is certainly academic in nature, we are committed to educating the pupils as a whole and indeed, to helping our pupils understand the importance of responsibility, compassion, fairness and honesty in all their endeavours.
