Ashlawn is a lead school in Warwickshire for Gifted and Talented learning.

WE ARE SEEKING TO APPOINT TO THE FOLLOWING POST FROM JANUARY 2015

Lead Practioner/Teacher of Chemistry (formerly Advanced Skills Teacher / Excellent Teacher)

This post has arisen due to the promotion of a colleague to a senior role and, after our recent "Outstanding" Ofsted judgement, our expanding sixth form.

The successful candidate will be ambitious for their career development, the achievement of young people and the professional learning of colleagues. You will join a large and expanding 11-19 school that is outstanding in every category; in so doing you will take a whole school leadership role of an element in the school SEF and report directly to SLT. You will also be part of a dynamic, committed faculty team and enable the professional development of others in your lead role, through coaching and appraisal and delivering CPD to colleagues across the school and in Science.

The successful candidate will be part of the Ashlawn Science faculty. Young people make progress and attain outstanding outcomes in all of its many qualifications. Members of the faculty passionately believe in innovation, high standards and supporting each other to become better teachers and leaders because this is the surest way to make a difference to the life chances for young people. The successful candidate will share this attitude and promote it whole school.

Ashlawn students are enthusiastic, talented and keen to succeed and we are looking for a colleague who can enable this: to inspire young people with a passion for learning, to equip them with skills and knowledge and to transform their lives. Ashlawn staff are proud of their dedication and expertise and very receptive to innovation and working collaboratively.

Experience of teaching KS5, delivering professional training and having led on outcomes or initiatives is desirable.
