The Role
As a Lead Practitioner at Hertford Regional College you will carry out specialist assessments to establish individual support needs. You will also deliver learning support for a cohort of learners where those learners have a demonstrable severe specific learning difficulty and co-ordinate support for all assessed learners using Senior Learning Coaches/Learning Coaches or Learning Support Workers.

Your main duties will include developing good practice within your specialist areas and taking a lead role in determining and developing support action plans whilst then promoting responsibility for their implementation.

You will work closely with a number of different colleagues across both the Student Services Department as well as within the College as a whole

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a qualified teacher with degree or equivalent professional development with level 5 - 7 SpLD qualification.

The successful candidate will have proven ability to deliver support leading to positive outcomes and demonstrate previous experience of leading teaching, learning and support initiatives.

Ideally you will be someone who is confident working closely with a number of different colleagues across both the Student Services Department as well as within the College as a whole.

About Hertford Regional College

Hertford Regional College is the largest college in the area and offers the widest range of courses available.

Around 12,000 full or Part-time students chose to study at the College last year and although many of our students come from the immediate area, the reputation of the College also draws students from further afield.

There are opportunities to progress from “starter” courses to more advanced courses at either of the main College centres in Ware and Broxbourne or at other community centres. You can study Full-time or Part-time – during the day, in the evening and on Saturdays. College students in a recent Ofsted inspection praised the “friendly and supportive staff”.

The main College centres are in Ware and Broxbourne and there are also the smaller NextStep centres in Waltham Cross and Bishop's Stortford. Part-time courses are offered at these centres plus numerous other venues, such as schools and community centres, throughout Broxbourne and East Herts.

Amongst the top-class facilities you will find when you come to the College are:

  • Over 700 PCs around the College either in open plan workshops, learning areas, or classrooms
