At Raine's Foundation School we are seeking to strengthen our Maths Faculty and appoint an inspirational Lead Practitioner of Maths to secure outstanding learning, not only for their own students but also for other colleagues within the Maths Faculty. We are looking for a Maths specialist who will provide pedagogical leadership and take a major role in the professional development of colleagues. We wish to appoint a teacher with excellent curriculum knowledge and someone who consistently models excellent practice and has students' progress at the forefront of their teaching.

The Head of Faculty has a vision to create a Maths Department that promotes creativity and collaboration, both amongst staff and students, in order that all our students have access to a rich Mathematics curriculum with an emphasis on genuine understanding, thinking skills and problem solving. The successful applicant would share this vision and be ready to work hard to help to make it a reality through inspiring and enabling staff to raise their standards and ensure that learning in all Maths classrooms is good or outstanding.

The faculty has a growing Key Stage 5 cohort, including Further Maths and it would be desirable for applicants to have experience of post 16 teaching.

Situated in the heart of Bethnal Green Raine's is a multi-cultural, Church of England, comprehensive 11 - 18 mixed school.

We are looking for a colleague who:

  • Proven experience of delivering good and outstanding learning in lessons.
  • Is an excellent teacher with a track record of success
  • Has the ability to evaluate the quality of teaching and learning
  • Is able to lead, enthuse and motivate staff and students.
