Job overview

If you are a teacher who is passionate about their subject, enjoys working with young people and is determined to make a real difference to the children you teach then this could be the job for you.

We are looking for an outstanding teacher to join this forward thinking department and develop the quality of teaching and learning in English. The post of Lead Practitioner has the responsibility for modelling and leading the improvement of teaching skills and therefore the successful candidate will need to demonstrate evidence of outstanding practice and the ability to develop and coach others. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in influencing positive learning outcomes for our students across all 3 key stages.

This is an exciting time to be joining our new Academy. Following the merger of the two schools, we are on a journey to provide an outstanding education for the children of Ilkeston. We are currently in the middle of a new build, which will house the English department in state of the art facilities. Our academy is a vibrant and friendly place to teach, with 995 students currently on role 11-18yrs. We offer excellent CPD opportunities for staff at all levels. For an informal chat or to arrange a visit please contact Andy Freestone, Assistant Principal with responsibility for English.
