An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Essex Specialist Teacher Team.
The Special Educational Needs and Additional Needs Provider Service (SEN/AEN) is looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher to fill this interesting post within the Essex Specialist Teacher Team.
The Speech, Language and Social Communication Needs Team is part of the Specialist Teacher Team which also consists of specialist teachers in Hearing Impairment, Autism and Social Communication Difficulties, Visual Impairment, Physical Difficulties and Learning Difficulties. The specialist teachers from each specialism are based within one of four quadrants but are expected to work in other quadrants when necessary. The Lead Specialist Teacher is based in one quadrant but will work across the County.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced and dedicated Lead Teacher for the Speech, Language and Social Communication Needs Team. You will be passionate about making a difference to the education and lives of children and young people and alongside the Specialist Teacher Team, Area Team Manager will be the professional lead for a well-motivated and experienced team.
The Lead Teacher will hold a qualification in Speech and Language and be a Qualified Teacher who has experience of working with children with Speech and Language Difficulties in the primary age range. Experience of peripatetic Advisory Teacher work would be desirable.
The lead teacher would:
- take responsibility for co-ordinating, developing and implementing the delivery of specialist support and training to schools, inspiring the team to work effectively with heads, school staff, families and other agencies, to promote the inclusion and achievement of children within the current context of new initiatives.
- be competent about planning and delivering training to a high standard, to a range of audiences. Able to challenge, motivate and inspire teachers, TAs, parents/carers and other professionals, a good communicator, skilled in supporting staff and building relationships with colleagues, families and young people.
