The Senior Leadership Team, Governors and The Heath Family Trust are seeking to appoint a talented, innovative and ambitious strategic leader to join our strong English Faculty. Candidates will be creative, articulate and dedicated to bringing positive outcomes for young people in our school community.

This is a great opportunity to build or extend a leadership profile in a school that has shown continuous, sustained improvement in all performance indicators and at all tiers of the school.

Candidates should:

  • Have a proven track record of continuous improvement at subject level particularly at KS4
  • Have experience of delivering the GCSE syllabus (preferably AQA) essential
  • Display the ability to provide timely and efficient intervention for specific groups of students using a range of strategies
  • Have experience of accurate assessment and moderation of Controlled Assessments
  • Have experience of high quality delivery of GCSE exam content - especially targeted content to ensure sustained improvement and progress of individual and groups of students
  • Understand the new GCSE specification for English Language and Literature - preferable
  • Understand and be able to articulate how they have raised standards through effective Self-Evaluation in the classroom and subject area
  • Have proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Be able to show how they have coached and mentored others to a high standard
  • Have a clear commitment to continuous school improvement
  • Be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Have an up to date knowledge of the emerging issues in school leadership
