We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and talented leader of Mathematics who is committed to raising the expectations and achievements of our young people. We are looking for an inspirational individual with enthusiasm, sensitivity, resilience, strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to motivate young people and teachers to achieve their best.

As a talented, creative and consistently 'Good' or better practitioner yourself, you will be expected to teach across all key stages (including the AS/A2 courses in our new 6th Form) and across the whole ability range. You must possess a proven track record of leadership experience, with the consequent positive impact on student attainment in mathematics.

You will act as role model to inspire your team and raise academic standards in mathematics and numeracy. Mathematics is a key area for development within the academy and you will be well supported by enthusiastic and committed staff within the mathematics directorate and Senior Leadership Team. The post holder will join 7 colleagues as part of the academy Senior Leadership Group which meet regularly and take key strategic decisions to drive the academy towards excellence.

I am so proud of the students and staff who have worked so hard to achieve this recognition. North Durham Academy is a wonderful school and inspectors clearly recognised this. We have made improvements in every part of the school and we will continue to go from strength to strength, I am truly proud to be associated with our school and its community.
