Ormiston Ilkeston Enterprise Academy are seeking to appoint two successful English practitioners to lead a rapidly improving subject area within a progressive Academy.

Working under the Assistant Principal Achievement and Intervention, these two English leaders would be challenged with driving good and outstanding practice in teaching and learning, whilst leading a team of English teachers to ensure high levels of progress and achievement in the subject.

The successful candidates will have a proven track record of good and outstanding teaching and outcomes. They will demonstrate a commitment to leading the continuing professional development of staff they lead and support.

The successful applicants will be ambitious and bring a fresh approach to schemes of learning, teaching styles and learning strategies. The academy is in the midst of an exciting new era. Having merged two schools this year and moving on to one site this summer, a new build housing the English faculty will be completed in May 2015. As we move into this phase of our long term development we seek to appoint vibrant, forward thinking professionals who will drive improvement and join us in celebrating the lives of our young people.

At OIEA we are committed to developing our middle leaders who we regard as 'leaders of learning' and will seek to develop their skills so that they may aspire to further their careers at College leader and Senior leader level.

OIEA has recently merged and aims to provide the highest standard of education to the children and families of Ilkeston. We predict that the examination results will provide any new appointment a solid foundation to propel the school even further. Students will be educated on one site from this summer and be housed in the part new build from May 2015, we see these as two natural incentives to drive further improvement. We are committed to allowing students to make the progress they deserve in a supportive and safe environment.

If you are interested in either of these positions please contact B. Burbage (bburbage@oiea.co.uk) to visit the school on an open afternoon of Thursday 1st May, from 1.30pm.

Deadline for applications is Friday 9th May at 12pm with interviews Friday 16th May.
