Learning Leader of Art

We are a federated secondary special school for pupils with Autism, Communication and Associated Learning Difficulties.

From 1st October 2014 we will become part of the Torfield and Saxon Mount Academy Trust.

We require an exceptionally talented teacher who can adapt well to new challenges. The successful candidate will lead in the whole school development of Art including accredited courses. They will have a proven and demonstrable ability to successfully progress the learning of pupils with special educational needs. They may also be a class tutor with pastoral responsibilities.

We welcome applications from outstanding primary or secondary, mainstream or special school teachers.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Knowledge and understanding of students with Autism and speech, language and communication difficulties
• An understanding and interest in SEN, preferably with experience in working with students requiring additional support in accessing the curriculum
• The ability to support the raising of standards and the detailed tracking of pupil progress across a range of ability, from P Scales to NC level 5 and above
• The ability to work effectively within a team and to lead a curriculum area.
