We have a new post available for a Learning Mentor to work for 7 hours per week.  It is anticipated that the hours of work will initially be 8.30am ? 4.30pm over one day but this may be split over two days by negotiation. This post is temporary until July 2015 in the first instance.

At Navenby Church of England Primary School we regard all our Teaching and Support Assistants as an integral part of our Teaching Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will participate in the assessment of all children in school to identify those requiring extra support to overcome barriers to learning such as poor attendance, emotional or behavioural difficulties or disaffection.

The role will involve working closely with pupils and their families.

The successful candidate will be friendly, motivating, encouraging and empathetic and will have:

  • An understanding of the range of programmes, activities and organisations available to provide additional support for pupils and/or families;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, being able to communicate effectively with pupils, staff, parents and other professionals;
  • Experience of working in a similar role;
  • The ability to develop strong relationships with pupils and families;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team;
  • A sense of humour;
  • Willingness to ?go the extra mile?.
