Reporting to Mrs C Riglin, Senior Learning Mentor, based at St Thomas CE Primary.

We are looking for a Learning Mentor to provide extra support to children who may have emotional or behavioural needs and who require additional help to access education and reach their full potential.  In addition, we are looking for someone who can prepare for and lead meetings with professionals and support our SENDco with some administrative tasks.  Therefore, strong administrative skills and good organisational skills are required.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, positive and flexible, a good team player with excellent communication skills.  Knowledge and experience of working with children, particularly vulnerable children, is vital and it would be an advantage to have worked with other agencies that support children and their families.  The post holder will be required to liaise with staff, parents/carers and children regarding issues surrounding children's well-being and academic performance and on occasion make home visits.

The post is to support two schools and, therefore, the post holder will be required to travel between sites in the surrounding area, with a base at St Thomas CE Primary.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed.

For further information or to arrange a visit to the school, please contact Jackie Hawkesworth (Senior Administrator) on (01205) 362860 or email enquiries@st-thomas.lincs.sch.uk.

The school has a clear commitment to Child Protection and Safeguarding Children.  All appointments are subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check as well as other routine recruitment checks.

Closing date for applications is Friday 31 October 2014 at noon
Interviews will be held week commencing Monday 10 November 2014
