Oxfordshire Hospital School provides education for learners with medical needs both within Oxfordshire and beyond. As part of our development, we are seeking to appoint an experienced Learning Mentor who will support the teaching and school integration planning at the Highfield Sector of the school.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, well organized, flexible, able to adapt the curriculum and use their initiative. Excellent communication skills, a willingness to learn new skills and a commitment to multi-disciplinary approaches is essential. An understanding of the complexities involved in working within an inpatient psychiatric unit is desirable.

The Learning Mentor role would be suitable for someone who has experience of working independently with young people and a keen interest in supporting young people to return to school following a hospital admission.

A driving license is essential as travel throughout the County and the willingness to transport pupils from home or the Highfield to school will be required. The Highfield Unit is based on Roosevelt Drive, Headington, Oxford OX3 7JX. Shortlisted candidates will be given an opportunity to visit in advance of the interview.
