Young Epilepsy is the leading national charity working exclusively to improve the lives of children, teenagers and young people with epilepsy and related neurological conditions. With over 100 years of experience, our unique headquarters offers world-class services which include the provision of Residential Services, Education and Health Care to children and young people in the UK.

We also provide diagnostic, assessment and rehabilitation services to children and young people and work closely with distinguished organisations like Great Ormond Street Hospital and University College London.

Full-time, permanent (Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, term-time only) Based in Lingfield, Surrey

This is a great opportunity for an individual with experience of working in a classroom environment, to assist our tutors in delivering the curriculum and actively contributing towards the provision of the learning environment. You will ensure that educational objectives are met by maximising individual learning opportunities.

As an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will work under the supervision of the lecturer, to lead and support the staff team in the assessment and recording of learning. You will, in conjunction with other members of staff, create a caring, safe and engaging atmosphere for individuals to grow and gain skills in independence, within a range of learning environments.

Literacy and Numeracy Level 2, or equivalent is essential, as is CACHE 3 (or working towards), Level 3 Diploma in Children's and Young People's Workforce, or NVQ 3 Teaching Assistants (or working towards).

Experience of working with young adults who have complex and multiple learning disabilities and challenging behaviour is also essential, as is knowledge of specialist areas such as Autism, Epilepsy, PMLD, vocational/employability.
