An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Lecturer/Assessor in Science to join the College at their Broad Oak Campus.

As Lecturer/Assessor, you will co-ordinate course and subject teams in the delivery, promotion and monitoring of education, training and pastoral support to students. You will work closely with learners on a range of courses including BTEC Level 2 and 3 Applied Science and GSCE Science.

You will be responsible for organising a recognisable, discrete, part, portion or section of the College's curriculum and to have responsibility for its pre-course, on-course or outputs delivery and will co-ordinate the activities of those staff contributing to the curriculum area for which you have responsibility.

In order to be successful in this role, you will possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Chemistry, Physics, Biology) coupled with a Level 4/5 teaching qualification (or a willingness to work towards in first 12 months of employment). With a teaching experience in a Science related discipline, you will have experience of teaching BTEC levels 2 and 3 and experience of curriculum development. You should also have a good understanding of current government initiatives and policy relating to further education.

Excellent organisational and time management ability are also essential in order to meet the demands of a busy curriculum and maintain administrative procedures, coupled with the ability to communicate appropriately with staff across all aspects of the students' timetables and work as an effective team member. Demonstrable administration and IT skills are also essential.
