Five year fixed term post

Required with effect from 1st January 2015, or earlier if possible, a lecturer to teach in the area of Skills Development. You will plan and provide high quality teaching, as well as taking shared responsibility for the administration of the range of courses and levels delivered within the English provision.

The programme area delivers discrete courses from Entry Level to Level 2 for full and part-time students. The majority of teaching is to full-time students at Level 1 and 2 including iGCSE. The Skills Development team needs a dynamic and motivated lecturer to inspire students and be part of a very supportive and forward-thinking organisation.

This post carries a five year housing licence and you can expect to:

Salary will be in accordance with the Guernsey Lecturer Scale £26,898 - £48,396 per annum.

Guernsey College of Further Education has over 5,000 enrolments each year and offers a wide range of courses for the Bailiwick community.  We have 5 key areas of provision: 

•  14-16 – high school pupils can access a range of vocational qualifications as part of their year 10 & 11 provision.

•  16-19 – full-time courses, at entry level to level 3 aimed primarily at school leavers, however applications from mature students are welcomed. 

•  Part-time professional courses – we offer CPD courses for a variety of professions, from 1 day seminars to longer HE programmes. 

•  Apprenticeships – the college provides the vocational training for the States Registered Apprenticeship Scheme. 

•  Adult &  Community education – we pride ourselves in offering a huge selection of leisure courses, such as wine tasting, craft, cookery, maritime and many more.
