Job overview

(Ref: 2312)

Tower Hamlets College is a leading education provider in East London. We were inspected in 2013 by Ofsted and graded Good as a college and the Business area was rated as Outstanding. College success rates have risen for five consecutive years, and the Business area now stands at more than 10% above the National Average. The College is one of the few in London in a sound financial position with an improving success rate profile.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic lecturer to join this motivated and successful team. You will be expected to teach across a range of programmes including BTEC and A Level, and we have a strong preference for a candidate with professional experience of accounting and finance who could deliver professional accounting programmes such as AAT. A key feature of the Business area is placement of school leavers in Canary Wharf and City firms, and these specialisms form a key part of our programmes of study.

You should have a degree in Business, Economics or Accounting (or equivalent professional qualifications). Qualified applicants with relevant accounting industrial experience will be considered. A teaching qualification is desirable, but successful applicants without this will be assisted in gaining one. You will have experience of teaching business studies and preferably finance and accounting, and will be expected to tutor a group or groups of students.

Closing date: 30 October 2014 at 12pm
