Established for more than 120 years, Blackburn College is one of the largest and most successful colleges in the North West. The Role
The Centre for Hair, Beauty, Hospitality, Skills for Life & ESOL is a large dynamic Centre with an expanding curriculum, which offers a wide variety of learning opportunities. You will teach across a range of ESOL courses and levels, which may include International, Commercial or Job Centre Plus provision.  As part of a curriculum team you will also contribute to course promotion, delivery, planning, development and student support as well as playing a key part in helping our learners achieve the highest possible standards.

What we are looking for
The successful candidate will possess a PGCE or other recognised teaching qualification and a Level 4/5 subject specialist qualification in ESOL or be willing to work towards these.

Experience of teaching ESOL is essential (ideally including a variety of settings such as FE, international, commercial, Job Centre Plus or similar provision from outside agencies) as is an understanding of the national SFL/ESOL agenda and a commitment to achieving targets in line with that agenda.

You should also have proven organisational ability, work well as part of a team and be willing to work flexibly, including working independently away from the College campus. As an individual you will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
