35 hours per week, term time plus one week     

The Link Room supports some of our most vulnerable students, helping them socially and emotionally to access their education through providing them with academic and pastoral support.

We are looking for someone who is hard working, resilient and calm, to coordinate our Link Room and join our successful SEND team. It is absolutely crucial that the post holder has a real interest and commitment to supporting young people. The role also involves significant liaison with teaching staff, parents and other professionals.

You must be able to work independently and be a strong team player, with proven skills in communication and negotiation. You will need to work cooperatively with teachers, to ensure that the students are able to build confidence to reengage with their lessons in a sustainable way. Good ICT skills will also be needed to support the curriculum offered to Link Room students and to support progress tracking.

Aylsham High School is a co-educational 11-16 secondary school in Aylsham, Norwich, Norfolk, with specialism in business and enterprise.

In July 2016, the school formed the Aylsham Learning Federation with Bure Valley School to help support the development of education in Aylsham. It has also become the first Cluster in Norfolk to form a Co-operative Cluster Trust,

Aylsham High School believes that its specialism of business and enterprise encourages the development of qualities in its students that universities and employers value most – creativity, independent thinking, confident communication, imaginative problem solving and skilled leadership. 

The school’s facilities are undergoing a programme of improvement. Recent additions to the main building include the installation of two purpose-built catering rooms with high specification equipment and the construction of a modern hairdressing salon.
