Fixed Term contract - Due to funding, until 31 August 2015

37 hours per week

A vacancy has arisen to work with schools in the south of the County. The post would be of interest to experienced SEN staff from support services, primary, secondary or special school sectors.

The primary role of the Local Inclusion Officer Service is to:-

  • Monitor, review, evaluate and report on SEN provision made for Derbyshire pupils in school.
  • Provide specialist support and guidance relating to individual casework.
  • Contribute towards the review and development of effective school learning support systems and outcomes for resourcing schools and individual learners.
  • Promote inclusion of pupils with SEN and learning difficulties/disabilities.

You will need to have:-

  • Relevant recent teaching experience, relating to the management of SEN through primary, secondary, special or advisory sectors.
  • Knowledge of SEN legislation including the SEN Code of Practice.
  • An understanding of the issues surrounding accessing the National Curriculum for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
