This is an exciting time to join Waverley Studio College. Waverley Studio College opened on September 3 2013 to Year 10 and 12 pupils. Specialising in Health and Social Care, Business, and ICT, the College is focused on developing and preparing young people for the world of work.

As part of the exciting growth plans for Waverley Education Foundation, we are expanding our Trust to meet future requirements.  We are looking for an experienced and influential practitioner to join our pool of talented Consultants as a Mathematics Consultant to support the school improvement agenda across the Trust and schools it supports.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent track record of teaching and student progress within a successful secondary school.  The key areas of responsibility for the Mathematics Consultant will be Teaching and Learning and the School Improvement Plan.  They will be expected to be an expert in their field and have the ability to introduce and implement new initiatives to continually monitor and improve the provision of mathematics throughout the Trust.  Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate the benefits their initiatives/improvements have made by proven results.  Applicants need to be self-motivated, highly driven and able to hit the ground running, making a difference from day one.  They will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to forge strong working relationships within the Mathematics Team and Trust as a whole.

The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post.

Waverley Studio College is a 14-19 academy school located in Birmingham, West Midlands. With around 200 pupils in a co-educational setting, it is significantly smaller than the average secondary school, and has an extremely diverse catchment area, a fact reflected in its student body. As a studio school part of the Waverley Education Foundation Trust, Waverley Studio College is intended to provide more work-relevant qualifications and courses than most secondary schools, particularly in the fields of technology and enterprise. First opened in 2013, the school exists on a brand-new purpose-built site with a range of modern teaching and recreational facilities.
