Macmillan Academy serves the entire Middlesbrough area and staff take pride in the educational outcomes and the numbers of Post 16 students who transfer to higher education, apprenticeship and work.

The Ofsted Report of 2013 classed the academy as good and stated that"Macmillan Academy seeks to provide an education which is motivational, meaningful and memorable and it is successful in doing so."

Following the emigration of the head of department we are seeking a candidate who has a proven track record of innovative approaches to teaching and someone who can continue to raise achievement in the department.

The successful applicant will:

• Lead a supportive, well motivated team with a strong ethos for collaborative and shared practice.
• Have the opportunity to teach across the full ability range. Both A Level and Further mathematics are well established within the department.
• Benefit from working with students with very high parental engagement.
• Work in an environment with a strong emphasis on professional development.
• Lead the department through the challenges of the new curriculum.
