The University of Northampton is seeking innovative educational professionals to join the thriving academic community within the School of Education.
40 years of excellence in initial teacher training, early years education provision and with a national and international reputation for SEN, we are seeking a dynamic educational professional to provide area coordination for the Further Mathematics Support Programme, funded by the Department for Education.
You will play a key role in the operation of the Further Mathematics Support Programme in the East Midlands region. You will work as a part of a team of 4 Area Coordinators across the region. You will be responsible for the effective management of support for schools and colleges in the teaching and learning of A level Mathematics and Further Mathematicsin your area.
The post will be located in the School of Education, Division of Teacher Education at Park Campus. Initial Teacher Training has been established for over forty years and includes undergraduate, postgraduate and School Direct programmes in primary, early years, secondary and post-compulsory. The School's ITT Ofsted grades have been consistently high across the last decade; the most recent Ofsted inspection of UG/PG provision was grade 2 'Good'. The School's Primary and Early Years ITT programmes have achieved national recognition in recent years for high retention, employment and trainee satisfaction rates, including high NQT satisfaction rates for the training of early reading, phonics, and mathematics. The School of Education has an excellent reputation for its range of courses and is committed to continually improving the learning, teaching and assessment opportunities for students.
You will be an expert mathematics educator with a first degree in mathematicsor equivalent and extensiveexperience of teaching mathematics and further mathematics A level. Ideally you will also have experience of training teachers. You will be well organisedand able to work effectivelyand flexibly, both independentlyand as part of a team. You will be confident and adaptable in your use of technology. You will have excellent communication skills
The post requires effectiveliaison with the other Area Coordinators in your region, your FMSP Regional Manager, the FMSP administration team, the universities and the schools, collegesand other relevant organisationsin your area Therefore, the post holder will need to be able to travel freely. This post will involve some evening work and spending some time away from the office outside of normal office hours includingsome weekends. Expenses are paid at an agreed rate
