Job overview

(Recent and Past)

Calling all graduates with a maths based degree - Further Education Needs You!

Whether you are a recent graduate or someone who has graduated previously and then gone on to work in industry; this exciting initiative could be for you.

With either a mathematics degree or a joint degree with maths or a physics or engineering degree, with a strong maths element (other degrees will be considered) you could be part of our new graduate training programme. With no previous teaching experience (essential), you will be guided and supported by our talented staff to develop into our Maths Lecturers of the future and continue the success of our Ofsted Outstanding College.

With a heavily remitted teaching timetable (8 hours teaching per week over a 28 week period) you will concentrate on studying for your level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (QCF) qualification in one year, fully financed by the college. We will allocate you a mentor to support your classroom based experience as well as engaging with an outstanding lecturer who will help develop important teaching skills such as classroom management and planning. Allowing you the time to shadow classes and develop the skills necessary to become a fully qualified Lecturer in Maths, you will receive a full teaching salary. This fantastic development opportunity will provide you with the chance to move into a new and varied career.

Fixed term initially for 12 months with a view to a permanent position commencing September 2014. (A Golden Hello of £7500 may be available if employment is extended into a second year of employment and funding criteria are met).

Expand your Career Opportunities with The Lincoln College Group

'Extraordinary means being exceptional, remarkable, astonishing and amazing.

None of these characteristics are a course or a programme, a building, a surplus or deficit budget, or a grade by a regulator.

These characteristics describe the thoughts, actions and behaviours of our people to achieve great things.

People who are committed to delivering everyday work to the very highest standard time and time again, who refuse to accept mediocrity or average, and people who innovate and are ingenious to create solutions to problems; and then deliver those creations.' Gary Headland - CEO Lincoln College Group
