Job overview

Maths Teacher, Plymouth

Our brand new and probably the best equipped, state-of-the-art engineering and technical academy in the South West, opened in Plymouth in September 2013. We are now seeking to enhance the Maths Department with an enthusiastic teacher who has the ability to motivate students from KS4 up to KS5, with bespoke skills to join our rapidly growing team. They will help the team deliver the operational detail of our pioneering and employer-led University Technical College. Applicants must be able to demonstrate relevant experience and clear evidence of positive outcomes.

Candidates that can embrace a variety of additional subjects and extra-curricular enrichment options are positively encouraged to apply. You will be an experienced and outstanding teacher, forward thinking, confident and a dynamic individual who is ready for a challenge. You are also passionate about learning as a lifelong journey in your own specialist area but can also offer much wider subject value.

While you can demonstrate making a positive difference delivering outstanding results in the traditional sense, you can also easily adapt, contextualize and integrate this in a technical and project based learning environment for the 14-19 Agenda.

In an 'all hands on deck' approach, all new staff will support the continuous development of this exciting and challenging new educational initiative and will be key in shaping its future success. NQTs are welcome to apply.

UTC Plymouth is on a trajectory of success! We are an inclusive, 11-19 STEAM specialist college with a strong vision, ambitious curriculum and a wholly child centred approach. Our core values of: Resilience; Dedication; Discipline; Professionalism and Respect are at the heart of everything that we do. Based in historic Devonport, our location is within a stone's throw of the partners we work with including The Dockyard (Babcock), Princess Yachts and Plymouth University. Within our multi million pound facilities, our remit has always been to supply Plymouth and its surrounding area with highly skilled, highly motivated employees with strong interpersonal skills. Working with our partners and influential governing body, the reality and value of our vision has meant a threefold increase in student numbers and a 100% preferred destination rate for two consecutive years. As our country moves into a national recovery, there is no better time to join our forward-thinking, innovative establishment.

Reach South is a young and developing Trust which operates across the South West of England with the aim of delivering all through 3-19 education. We operate 14 academies in Plymouth, Bournemouth, Dorset and Wiltshire. We are building this Trust on a clear set of values, behaviours and curriculum principles. At the heart of those values and principles is a belief in our young people and a determination to support them to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become the successful citizens for today and all of their tomorrows.

Our core business is delivering exceptional education for children and young people with a mission to help all pupils aspire to achieve beyond the expectations that others put on them. We do this through the development of a talented and committed workforce. In order to deliver exceptional opportunities for learning, we need highly motivated staff across all parts of the organisation.

Teachers within Reach South belong to a national community of professionals, and benefit from a wide range of networks and development opportunities across the Trust. In time, our best teachers are able to work across schools, develop specialisms and step up to leadership roles within and beyond their own academy. The Trust provides a strong culture of collaboration and support, together with high expectations for staff and pupils alike.

Those we recruit are able to demonstrate that they share our values, are highly motivated to work with colleagues, within and beyond their school, to continuously develop their skills and pursue professional excellence.
