Members will not be paid for their services but will be reimbursed for travelling, subsistence and other expenses related to their membership of the Council.

A time commitment of up to 12 - 15 days per annum on Council business will typically be required.

The EWC will be established on 1 April 2015 and will be a statutory selfregulating professional body for education practitioners in Wales. It will seek to improve standards of teaching and the quality of learning. It will also raise the status of teaching in Schools and FE Institutions by maintaining and promoting the highest standards of professional practice and conduct in the interests of practitioners, learners and the general public.
