An exciting opportunity to lead the development of ARK Schools' secondary music provision

ARK Schools is a fast growing education charity committed to running outstanding community schools. With 27 academies open and further growth plans- this is a unique opportunity to join a thriving organisation. The organisation runs a wide-reaching music programme that provides curriculum, vocal and instrumental support and development to all of the ARK academies. Music is a core part of life in many of our schools, designed to build confidence, ability and harness a life-long love of a variety of music.

A central music team exists within ARK to support music making across the network. We are now seeking a Network Lead for Secondary Music to join this team and work with our academies to ensure that teaching and learning in music is of the highest quality, and that pupil attainment is outstanding. In this role you will help teachers to inspire pupils to participate in, excel at, and enjoy a range of music-making activities within the classroom and beyond, working closely alongside the Director of Music and Network Lead for Primary Music to ensure a joined up approach to music education across the ARK Schools network.

The ideal candidate will:

  • have an outstanding record of leading the improvement of music provision in one or more schools
  • be an outstanding teacher
  • have enthusiasm and passion for music and the development of the music curriculum
  • have demonstrable experience of significantly raising attainment through training and coaching others
  • share ARK's core values of high expectations and no excuses.
