Job overview

Our school is pleasantly situated in the seaside location of Seaton Carew. It is an average sized primary school which is popular within the local community. Our most recent OFSTED and SIAS inspections in 2010 have identified our school as 'Outstanding'.

The Governors are seeking to appoint a highly effective and reflective classroom practitioner who is an experienced and outstanding leader with a commitment to raising attainment across the school. Candidates should be highly motivated with a desire to continually develop their own leadership and management practice to ensure that all pupils succeed in a caring and Christian environment. We have below national average FSM, ethnic minority, EAL, SEN, LAC, deprivation and mobility. Our curriculum is firmly based in Basic Skills which is complemented by an exciting 'Challenge Curriculum' approach to deliver foundation subjects.

We are a Joint Leadership School in the Hartlepool Teaching School Alliance - Together to Succeed. We work closely with North East Teaching Schools and North East Teaching Schools Partnership which holds a licence to deliver NPQH and other leadership qualifications and are an appropriate body for NQTs. We aim to offer excellent support for teachers wanting to move their career forward.

We are currently working with the Education Funding Agency on plans to rebuild our school. It is likely that this exciting development will occur within the next two years and from September 2014 we are extending our provision to include a 26 FTE place nursery.

Holy Trinity C of E is a warm and happy school. Staff pride themselves on maintaining high standards of care, achievement and progress for all its pupils.

We require a Deputy Headteacher who is outstanding at:

  • Leading a core curriculum area
  • Leading whole school assessment
  • Leading performance management
  • Leading data analysis
  • Leading a whole school strategic vision and development alongside the Headteacher
  • Leading school self evaluation alongside the Headteacher

What we can offer:

  • Personalised professional development opportunities
  • Opportunity to be part of the development of a new school and new nursery provision
  • Governors who are committed and passionate about the school and wider community
  • CPD opportunities through the school's lead role in Teaching Schools Alliance
  • Highly effective support staff - each class has a full time Teaching Assistant
  • Outstanding behaviour of pupils who show excellent attitudes towards learning
  • Forward thinking, committed and skilled team to learn alongside
  • Warm, collegiate and supportive environment to develop your career

The successful candidate will not only benefit from the support of a committed teaching and support staff but also be part of a team which is enthusiastically driving the school forward and building upon its achievements.
