Outstanding/ Advanced Skills Teacher of English, Durham

The Governing Body is now seeking to appoint an Outstanding / Advanced Skills Teacher of English, to lead the design and delivery of the English curriculum.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Able to design and deliver the English curriculum to a very high standard
  • Capable of leading literacy very effectively across the whole school
  • An experienced, talented, innovative and versatile teacher
  • Characterised by a high level of drive, energy, enterprise and enthusiasm to raise aspirations and standards
  • A consistently 'good' / 'outstanding' classroom practitioner
  • Able to demonstrate a proven track record in transforming learning and raising standards to improve the academic performance of pupils of all abilities
  • Highly capable, with exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to professional development to ensure that all students have consistently 'good' / 'outstanding' teaching.

The Durham Free School is a new 11-18 secondary school which opened its doors to Year 7 students in September 2013. It is providing an exciting new educational opportunity for children in Durham.  The school offers a distinctive and inclusive education, shaped by traditional Christian values and is welcoming to all.
