The vision and values of Abbeys Primary School are encompassed in our mission statement inspired by all stakeholders, “Aim, Aspire, Achieve at Abbeys”.  We all take pride in the school’s shared vision, and recognise the need for continued commitment to achieving the best for our children by working together towards our common goals.

Abbeys Primary School was originally a First and Middle school.  The two schools were combined in 1995 and there is now considerable space on our site, which is continually being developed and updated.  We are able to offer rooms for community use, as well as music teaching, nurture and small group work in addition to our spacious classrooms and grounds.  The school is situated in the West Bletchley area of Milton Keynes, which is an urban area with well established family housing.  There is a Surestart Children’s Centre on the school site, and we have established links with the staff and agencies who are based there.  We also liaise with our local pre-school and secondary schools to ensure smooth transition to and from Abbeys.  Our school is an important part of the community and we work in partnership with other local schools to share good practice and ensure effective communications.

Mrs Sophie Good, our substantive Headteacher, took up post in January 2013 following a term of shared interim Headship during Autumn 2012, and has begun work on developing school improvement priorities.  The staff team are friendly, hardworking and dedicated to providing the high quality teaching and learning which our children are entitled to, and deserve.
