Job overview

Do you want to work for an outstanding school? Do you want to be part of a highly effective senior leadership team?

St. Hugh's Communication and Interaction Specialist College is a well-resourced, purpose built school for 145 pupils aged 11 to 19 years with moderate to severe learning difficulties, many of whom have additional needs, ASD and complex medical needs. We are an outstanding school as inspected by Ofsted September 2013.

We are looking for a dynamic and innovative teacher (primary or early years) who see this as an opportunity to further develop their skills in special education with leadership responsibility. This is a full time permanent post. Candidates must have an understanding of the developmental learning needs of children. Experience of working in a special school is not essential. Key aspects of this role are building from middle leadership experience with a sound understanding in all curriculum areas. Experience of subject leadership would be advantageous. This is an excellent opportunity for a colleague to extend their continuous professional development within the leadership spectrum. These are new exciting posts to embrace and develop forward.

Ideally this position is open from January 2015.

For informal discussions, please phone Tracy Millard, Head Teacher on 01724 842960 or email tracy.millard@northlincs.gov.uk Visits to school before shortlisting are welcome.

Any offer of employment to this post will be subject to receipt of a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service. The full version of our Recruitment of ex offenders and Disclosure and Barring Service procedure can be accessed from the website at www.northlincs.gov.uk/jobsandcareers

For the successful candidate a relocation package and a one off additional incentive could be offered.

Please note that references will be sought prior to interview and shortlisted candidates will be visited in their current school to observe them teaching.

Please apply for this job online.

Alternatively application packs are available from the school, by contacting the Head teacher's PA, Mrs Justina Jones, on the schools number or by e-mailing justina.jones@northlincs.gov.uk. Completed application forms can be sent directly to the school, for the attention of Mrs Justina Jones, Head teacher's PA, at the schools address.
