Marlborough College Malaysia is a co-educational boarding and day school that opened in August 2012. The school is situated in 90 acres of the Iskandar region of Malaysia close to Singapore and Johor Bahru.
In 2015-2016, the College will complete a first phase of development when pupils will graduate to university study with IB Diploma results. The campus provides for pupils aged from 4 years old (Reception) up with the full roll next year at around 850. Boarding operates in Houses accommodating boys and girls in Years 5-8 and Years 9-13. Over the next five years the College will grow to a maximum capacity of 1300 pupils.
The school is not a franchise but a genuine expansion of Marlborough College in the UK and is managed and governed by people who have a strong association with Marlborough.
Many teaching staff live on campus in their first year and are expected to contribute towards the life of a full boarding school. As a general expectation all applicants should be prepared to participate in the co-curricular programme (including occasional weekends) and carry out a tutor duty once per week in the evening.
Successful applicants must be able to offer a subject specialism in Years 5-8 for around 2/3rds of their timetables. Games, Activities and Form time will make up the rest of a teacher's load.
Interest or experience in the following could also be advantageous:
- A co-curricular passion, be it sport, outdoor education, the arts or service
- Pastoral care of pupils, particularly in a boarding environment
- EAL experience
Employment Package
