About PDO School

PDO School, Muscat, Oman

Welcome to PDO School, where children thrive and excel in our child centred, learning focused, international environment. We offer high quality educational provision for the children of expatriate PDO employees aged between 3 and 11 years old.

The PDO School Team caters for the individual, social and academic needs of every child through regular assessment and specific learning programmes, to secure the best outcomes.

The curriculum at PDO School follows the English National Curriculum for Numeracy and Literacy combined with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC).  Independent international testing shows that our children achieve very well.

The IPC teaches different subjects through an enquiry led themed approach, often called a "creative curriculum". Fundamental to the children's learning are Personal Learning Goals that help children grow into independent and adaptable learners with a respect and understanding of others.

The children benefit from the expertise and passion of specialist teachers for Computing, Music, Art/Design and Physical Education.

A highly skilled team of language specialist teachers ensures all children are supported in developing fluency in English, whilst continuing to develop their home language.  Every child has access to specialist teachers in Music, Physical Education, Art/Design and Computing to ensure they achieve their potential.

School Campus

After almost 50 years at the original site, in October 2015 PDO School moved to a newly built state of the art campus with outstanding facilities and spaces that inspire the children and teachers alike.  Thirty classrooms are enhanced by large open plan areas where children can collaborate and share their learning. The school has  a separate Early Years building to provide appropriate accommodation for our youngest children, and a computing suite, library, art room, music room, home technology room , swimming pool, splash pool and a large outdoor astro turfed playing field. Wireless technology and a range of technological devices further support the children's learning and development throughout the school.
