Great teacher? Great leader? Our outstanding junior school needs a new headteacher to build on success to date and develop a new vision as our current head moves on to a new career challenge.

Prestwood is a village in the heart of the Chiltern Hills. Prestwood Junior is a two-form entry of 227 happy, motivated pupils aged 7 to 11, making good progress in all areas of the curriculum. The school is a focal point for the community with strong links to the local infant school. In recent years the number of pupils from outside catchment has grown, making for an increasingly diverse school.

We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of setting a clear vision and motivating the whole school to deliver results, enabling children to achieve their best.

You will be supported in this by a proactive governing body, a committed teaching staff and an enthusiastic Friends Association. Experienced headteachers, deputy, assistant or acting headteachers are encouraged to apply as are ambitious, qualified teachers looking to take the next step.

The ideal candidate:

• Able to motivate staff and pupils to achieve their goals and objectives in line with the culture, ethos and behavioural standards of the school
• Able to drive and manage change proactively and positively
• Personnel management skills at SMT level
• Outstanding classroom practice and mentoring skills
• Strong communication and relationship management skills
• Experience of raising standards and Ofsted inspection
