Merchants' Academy is a 3-18 Academy sponsored by the Society of Merchant Venturers and the University of Bristol. With rapidly rising exam results and student numbers this is an exciting time to join us.

This is a full time permanent appointment from September 2014.

Applications are invited from high quality candidates to be the Key Stage 2 Leader at Merchants' Academy Primary. We are seeking an inspirational teacher to provide high quality teaching to our young students and encourage them to achieve more than they ever thought possible. Candidates for this post should be:

• inspiring and able to motivate and challenge students to make rapid progress.
• able to establish strong relationships and have excellent interpersonal skills.
• bold, optimistic and tenacious in setting and achieving high standards.

This post will have responsibilities as follow:

• Raising standards at KS2 and particularly ensuring test scores make significant improvement including those for able students and vulnerable groups;
• Data analysis, monitoring and evaluation to identify good practice and performance in need of improvement;
• Ensuring the teaching of literacy and numeracy across KS2 impacts significantly on students' progress;
• Supporting and challenging staff across KS2, including mentoring new staff and NQT's.
