Craigour Park Nursery and Primary School is a non-denominational school built as part of the City of Edinburgh phase 1 of Private/Public Partnership. The catchment area is to the south of the City in an area of re-generation around the new Royal Infirmary Hospital complex. The housing is mixed, mostly private/rented (DHS), high rise (single parent families) and private owners-young families in their first family home. The current role is 392 in the school plus a 50 AM and 50 PM Nursery.

It is proposed for session 2014/15 there will be 17 classes in the main school, Nursery has capacity for 50 pupils am/pm (part time) and from that 8 places are allocated for full time where identified families meet the City of Edinburgh criteria. The school is multicultural for both pupils and staff. There will be 17 class teachers, a Head Teacher and 2 Depute Head Teachers both non-teaching, Support for Learning staff (part time), PE(1 FTE,) English as an Additional Language peripatetic visiting staff and support assistants in Arabic and Polish. There is a Business Manager, an Early Years Officer and 5 Early Years Practioners, 10 Learning Assistants and 2 Office staff.

This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.  Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council.
