After eighteen years of outstanding service to the school, following on from his headship in Lancashire, our much respected Principal, Dr David Dennison, will be retiring at the end of this academic year.
St Margaret's is a heavily oversubscribed, recently converted academy, which serves the Anglican Diocese of Liverpool in providing high quality education for all our students. St Margaret's became an academy in October 2012 and earlier this year was judged by Ofsted to be 'Good' and by SIAS as 'Outstanding'.
The Governors wish to appoint a highly motivated and innovative Principal who has a strong commitment to the Anglican tradition within education. The person appointed will have outstanding leadership qualities and the ability to inspire staff to meet the academic and pastoral needs of all our students. The Academy enjoys a highly supportive Diocese and a strong on-going partnership with the Local Authority.
Ofsted and SIAS comments:
- The distinctiveness and effectiveness of St Margaret's as a Church of England school are outstanding
- The school, through its distinctive Christian character, is outstanding at meeting the needs of all learners
- The impact of collective worship on the school community is outstanding
- Attitudes to learning are positive
- Teachers demonstrate high expectations, based on their consistently good subject knowledge.
- The range and breadth of the curriculum, combined with some outstanding extracurricular provision, successfully promotes equality of opportunity for all
- Parents and carers indicate overwhelmingly that they would recommend the school
