In 2015 the University of Birmingham will be opening the UK's first University Training School.
Combining the highest standards of teaching, educational attainment, pastoral care and pupil development, the School will be a centre of excellence for pedagogical innovation and teacher education, underpinned by a framework of character education. Add to that a commitment to shape broader educational policy and practice through its close partnership with the University, local schools and Birmingham City Council and the potential for transforming the lives of young people in the city is clear.
In another exciting move the School will be based in a new build on the University's Selly Oak site.
The Principal will be instrumental in enriching this vision and establishing the team and infrastructure necessary for a successful opening of the School in its purpose-built facilities and its continued development.
This is a remarkable opportunity for an established Principal who can demonstrate an impressive track record in delivering excellence to inspire staff, students and partners and deliver a research-orientated teaching environment.
