A journey to Outstanding - Are you up to the challenge?

Parklands Campus, near Abingdon in Oxfordshire was opened in September 2011 to provide for young people aged 11-19 with complex needs. There are presently 16 young people on role, including 2 young people on a 52 week placement in the Care Home, and a total staff group of 30 teachers, teaching assistants, care workers, administration and premises staff. The Campus has the capacity to provide for 35 young people, including 8 residential places, and it is set in 20 acres of Parkland with good road links to Oxford and surrounding towns.

This pivotal role will call upon your previous experience as a leader and practitioner, preferably in the special school arena, to join an increasingly effective and highly motivated staff team, on a journey towards establishing our Campus as a leader in its sector. The school was removed from special measures in June 2014 and, at the same time, the Children's Hope was awarded an Ofsted 'Good' rating. The job will require great tenacity, enthusiasm and drive to build on strengths and tackle areas for development.

You'll need:

  • Qualified Teacher status - National Professional Qualification for Head Teachers
  • Experience of senior management in education
  • Desirable would be a post qualifying qualification in Education/SEN.

And while you're taking action for children, we'll be taking action to make sure you have opportunities to develop, with ongoing support and training.
