Job overview

E-ACT is transforming. Our fresh approach to changing the lives of children and young people requires inspiring, high-calibre people to lead our academies.

Sponsor of 25 academies across England, E-ACT has emerged from a period of significant change. The organisation has the strength and energy to fulfil our goal of transforming the lives of each of the 14,500 young people in our care.

E-ACT's new approach is supported by a new model of school improvement, based on collaborative networks led by E-ACT System Leaders. System Leaders are current, successful E-ACT academy leaders who provide support and challenge to Principals from within the E-ACT trust.

We're recruiting a dynamic and effective Principal who can:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the academy to ensure its continuous improvement;
  • Rapidly raise standards and develop a culture of high aspiration;
  • Improve the quality of teaching and learning, eradicating any inadequate teaching and increasing the proportions of good and outstanding teaching;
  • Accelerate the achievement and progress of all learners;
  • Strengthen the effectiveness of leaders and managers at all levels; and
  • Play an active part in contributing to the development of the network of E-ACT academies and supporting 'One E-ACT'.

Newly merged from the former Crest Boys' and Crest Girls' academies, the Crest Academies offer single-sex education for boys and girls until the age of 16 in one brand new, state-of-the-art building. The £40 million new building features the latest ICT software, impressive sports halls and dance and drama studios. The curriculum is student-centred, and the emerging Crest Sixth Form is highly academic.

A school of choice for the local community, the academies have strong links with Brunel University and independent Highgate School. The Crest Academies are supported through the E-ACT System Leader approach to school improvement.

The role will be extremely challenging and will require 100% commitment, drive, energy and vision. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to influence wider strategy and have a direct impact on young people. You'll receive extensive support from a committed Head Office staff who share your vision, and be offered regular professional development opportunities.

If you believe that you have the abilities and experience to help transform our academy and the life chances of our young people, we want to hear from you.

Application deadline: Friday 3 October
