Principal Designate

Hours: 37.5 per week

Unity Community Primary, a free school in the heart of Cheetham, will open its doors to children and families from September 2015. As a new school it will open with reception and combined Y1 and 2 classes. It will have a new reception intake year on year until it accommodates all 7 year groups by 2019. The successful candidate will work as part of a MAT team lead by the Big Life School Director.

Designed by local parents and families the school will address the lack of school places locally, and will maximise opportunities for parents to participate in their children's learning to deliver it's vision - together we will set our children on a path to fulfil their dreams.

The role of Principal at Unity Community Primary will be highly rewarding. You will work with parents, children and families to lead the school through its journey from design and build ready for its first class of pupils in September 2015. This will involve you in developing the curriculum, delivering a new building, purchasing furniture and equipment, and recruiting staff with the maximum involvement of local parents. You will be supported to achieve this by the Big Life Director for Schools and The Big life group corporate services team. It will be a hands on leadership role which will require an ability to work in partnership with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, valuing different contributions.

You will be an ambassador for the school and will ensure links are established and maintained with key stakeholders in the local community.
