Are you an exceptional leader with the vision to spearhead a new approach to learning?

A unique opportunity has arisen for a motivated, innovative and dedicated individual to lead Plymouth's first Studio School.

Sponsored by City College Plymouth and the University of St Mark & St John, Plymouth Studio School is spearheading a new approach to learning: one that is rooted in the world of work. Enterprise projects and placements with local and regional employers will sit alongside robust academic learning. Catering for 300 students aged 14 to 19 and offering vocational and academic qualifications, the School will ensure that students leave equipped to succeed in the worlds of sport, leisure and tourism and hospitality. Working with the School's staff, governors and a committed group of employer ambassadors you will empower our young people to achieve their full potential.

We are looking to appoint an ambitious and inspirational leader with a proven track record of successful educational leadership to join us in January 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter. You may be an existing Principal or Head Teacher, or someone looking to make their first move into a role such as this. Doors open in September 2015 - it's up to you to make sure we're ready.

About Plymouth Studio School

Plymouth Studio School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Plymouth, Devon. It is a free studio school supported by a multi-academy trust called the Plymouth Studio School Trust. An average-sized secondary school, Plymouth Studio School will provide 300 places for secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 14-19 when fully subscribed.

Located at the same campus as the University of St Mark and St John, Plymouth Studio School opened in September 2015.

Plymouth Studio School focuses on providing a learning environment for students looking to combine academic excellence with a focus on sporting achievement. It has a Sports Performance Programme to develop young athletes at the same time as giving them a strong academic grounding. The school vision is to nurture a culture of high expectations and achievement at the same time as providing an approach that suits individual students and support education with a range of partnerships with different stakeholders.
