Job overview

Lydiate Learning Trust are both proud and excited that the Secretary of State has approved our plans to open Studio@Deyes in September 2015. We are now looking to appoint an ambitious and creative Principal Designate who is passionate about a creative curriculum and creative learning experiences, one who understands the role the business community and wider partnerships can play in enhancing those experiences for young people.

Our Studio School will inspire students with a thirst for learning and a desire to see the application of this learning in an area of the real world that interests them and fosters their curiosity. The rationale for the Studio School is to meet employer demand, respond to skill shortages across Merseyside and beyond, but most importantly to bridge the gap between the skills and knowledge that a young person needs to succeed. To this end, everyone has a part to play in the Studio School and everyone is listened to.

All students studying at the Studio School will be encouraged to aim high, striving to achieve beyond their potential. It will be designed to address the needs of students of all abilities thus allowing students to gain a range of qualifications in rigorous academic subjects whilst ensuring they develop a breadth of skills required for their chosen career. Students at The Studio School are not limited by choosing a specialist pathway. They will complete traditional A-Level, GCSE and BTEC qualifications and we will simply add more skills and experiences that will secure their future career.

The Studio School will open in a new or refurbished facility with state of the art resources.

The successful candidate will have specific responsibility for the leadership and development of the Studio working with a Studio School Leadership Team of Vice Principal and Enterprise and Employability Unit Director. Reporting to the Executive Headteacher of the Lydiate Learning Trust, the person appointed will take up the position in January 2015, and will work alongside the project implementation team in preparation for the opening of the Studio in September 2015.

If you are excited by, and interested in, this exceptional opportunity, please:

1. Complete the application form available at www.deyeshigh.co.uk/vacancies

2. Provide a supporting letter to the Executive Headteacher, Mrs Ann Stahler (maximum 3 sides of A4, Arial font 12) outlining how your career and experiences to date, and your skills, knowledge and attributes match the essential criteria in the person specification and have prepared you to lead the studio school.

Please email to recruitment@deyeshigh.co.uk with Principal Designate in the subject line.

Application deadline

Electronic applications should arrive by 9am on 7th October 2014
The two day interview process will take place on Thursday 16th & Friday 17th October 2014.
