Job overview

The NASUWT is the leading teachers' trade union across the UK, with a strong tradition of effective organising and campaigning. These posts are based in Birmingham and attract a final salary pension plus 47 days leave including public holidays and closure days.

Both positions require a track record of engagement in policy development, a strong commitment to equalities in the workplace, and a good understanding of pay, pensions and conditions of service issues from a trade union perspective.

In addition, the National Official will have a record of success in negotiating with employers.

The Challenge

The NASUWT is committed to securing the interests of members through effective organisation, negotiation and campaigns.

The Job

The Principal Official is responsible for supporting the effective leadership of the NASUWT Salaries, Pensions and Conditions of Service programme of work, including assisting the Union's national negotiations affecting teachers' pay, pensions and conditions of service, through the development of effective information and data retrieval systems.

The Candidate

You will combine an excellent understanding of the issues facing teachers and have experience in managing complex data, including well-developed research and information management skills.
