Values and vision

Darlington College wants to provide all students with the best possible learning experience to allow for them to achieve their potential. The college wants all students to gain the skills and confidence to succeed in their chosen career path in the future and works to maintain strong links with universities and local and national employers, allowing for pupils to benefit from industry links, work experience opportunities and careers advice.  The college motto: “Excellence in Education for Learning, Life and Work," is at the centre of its vision.  Darlington College holds four core values: commitment, ambition, respect and excellence, and wishes to be a prominent figure in the heart of the community. Students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities to expand their opportunities, develop new skills and nurture hobbies and interests. These range from sports clubs to an active Student Voice – where skills in leadership, teamwork and democracy are practiced.

Ofsted

“Learners improve their self-confidence and are well prepared for their next step to further study or employment. For example, adults who have been long-term unemployed develop the confidence to apply for jobs through the support tutors provide.”
