We respond to the different learning needs and styles of individual children, value them individually and as part of families and their communities.
We value the contributions of every member of staff, governors and the wider community.
Mission
At Rachel Keeling Nursery School we believe in providing all children with the best possible opportunities to develop to their full potential.
Aims
We work hard to make Rachel Keeling a more inclusive school..
We promote independence, confidence, self esteem and self respect for all.
We provide a safe and caring environment where children feel happy, secure and valued.
We provide a stimulating learning environment where children learn by first hand experience and at their own pace.
We want children to enjoy their learning.
All adults should be excellent role models, with a positive approach and a sense of humour.
Children learn best when there is effective partnership between parents/carers and school.
We build positive relationships between adults/children, based on effective communication and mutual respect.
Equality of opportunity does not mean offering the same to every child. Rules, routines and activities will be adapted for individual children so that they can access and participate effectively in the life of the school.
As a whole school staff we celebrate and value the diversity of our school community and we will challenge any form of discrimination.
Children are encouraged to develop their use of both home languages and English through their play, and through interaction with peers and adults.
To enable staff to see what is happening, to understand what they see, and to act on what they understand, ongoing quality training is essential.
Children are encouraged to make friendships, learn to get on together, and have a clear understanding of limits and boundaries.
