Values and vision

Christ Church CofE First School wants children to enjoy their childhood and grow at their own pace, while learning in a fun and stimulating environment. The school believes that happy children are more likely to succeed and hopes to install a sense of fun into the curriculum. It has the motto: ‘To be the best that you can be’ and strives to encourage pupils to discover their talents and interests, and make the most of them, both within the Christian community and throughout life. Christ Church CofE First School follows the passage: “live life in all its fullness” (John 10:10, the Bible) and has five core Christian values: respect, thankfulness, perseverance, forgiveness and responsibility, which are at the heart of everyday life at the school. It hopes to nurture children’s exploration of faith, while teaching them to respect the different beliefs of other religions. The school has a range of extra-curricular activities to encourage pupils to develop new skills and interests, while an active School Council helps to install skills in leadership and democracy.

Ofsted

“Pupils report that they feel safe in school; they feel free from bullying, but if individuals do fall out then they have confidence that the adults will sort it out promptly and effectively. They say that any concerns they have are heard and the school responds well”.
