Do you share our passion for outstanding teaching? Are you an inspirational leader able to review, support and guide schools in developing highly effective provision and practice in the EYFS and KS1- then why not consider joining the Early Excellence Regional Development Team.

As a national organisation Early Excellence supports over 6000 Nursery, Infant and Primary schools, providing training courses, bespoke INSET and school based support to help improve practice. Our National Centre based in Huddersfield sets a standard for practice, with practitioners and senior leaders visiting every day to attend training, look around our interactive environments, outdoor areas and best practice gallery.

Our Regional Development Team connect with LAs, Academy Trusts and groups of schools in order to facilitate training and support programmes underpinned by the strong values, child-led principles and quality training the organisation is founded on.

In this role you will work with a highly experienced team of senior consultants who plan the strategic direction of the organisation. You be responsible for implementing the strategic plans, making connections across the Midlands in order to extend the reach of Early Excellence. You will be a natural communicator able to speak passionately about the work of Early Excellence and the ways in which the training and improvement programmes provided impact on practice.

As a Regional Development Manager your work will require you to:

  • Be an ambassador for Early Excellence upholding the principles, practice and provision on which the organisation is founded.
  • Lead on the development of the East and West Midlands identifying key players and building relationships with schools, academy chains and LAs in order to provide services that meet their improvement and training needs.
  • Support schools in need of rapid improvement, helping to refurbish environments indoors and out, as well as plan bespoke support and training to improve practice.
  • Develop and promote regional conferences, cluster projects and learning networks across the Midlands.
  • Plan and present training at all levels including headteacher meetings, phase leader briefings and practitioner courses, as required.
  • Co-ordinate and quality assure the work of a team of Early Years/KS1 consultants who are able to deliver Early Excellence training across the Midlands.

A successful track record in Early Years and/or KS1 teaching, senior leadership and/or advisory work that demonstrates your capacity to contribute to the ongoing development of effective Early Years and KS1 pedagogy is essential. You will understand what supports and develops schools and have a clear view of the challenges schools face, especially in maintaining an exciting, challenging, first hand curriculum. You will relish the opportunity of working in a team committed to Early Years principles and be keen to help Early Excellence make a real difference to senior leaders, practitioners and children across the country.

Led by Liz Marsden the founder and Director, and supported by a strong senior leadership team of high-level early years/primary consultants, Early Excellence provides expertise, training and equipment to help schools improve and transform teaching and learning Birth-7yrs.

Our Centres based in Huddersfield and London are an inspirational place for practitioners working in the EYFS and KS1 to visit - attending training courses, looking around our interactive classrooms, best practice gallery and outdoor areas, as well as shopping for books and equipment in our Resource Centre.

We work with over 6000 schools and 50 LAs to support local and national priorities developing and leading conferences, courses and longer term improvement projects.
