Job overview

The Manchester College, the largest national provider of Offender Learning in the UK, delivers learning and skills to offenders across a range of custodial and community settings, working in partnership with Her Majesty's Prisons and Probation. Our mission is to improve lives and economic success through learning and skills. We work with offenders to enhance opportunities through employment and progression to contribute to the reduction of reoffending.

Following a strategic review of the organisations activities, we are looking to expand our Justice Division and as a result we have an exciting opportunity for a self-driven and enthusiastic individual to join the team as our Regional Director for Yorkshire and Humberside.

We're looking for a commercially aware and influential team player to take the lead on implementing national delivery and performance to ensure the learner, contractual, quality and financial targets are met. The aim of this role is to maximise successful learner outcomes, contract compliance and income generation.

Working with national and local employers, Governors and Head of Learning and Skills, you will plan and monitor the delivery of a high quality, focused learning and skills provision. You'll be managing key managers (internally known as OLASS Managers) to, amongst other things: ensure cost effective planning and operation of contractual requirements in the Justice Sector; coordinate the national provision of support and development for teaching staff; inform and support curriculum development; successfully achieve targets through planning analyst and reporting; ensure compliance with both our and external safeguarding, health & safety and security policies and procedures.

The successful person for this role won't necessarily come to us from working within the Justice Sector; what's more important is being commercially aware, used to both contract and client management and above all being able to really add value to the business.

Ideally we're looking for someone who has worked on curriculum development and whose work has improved the quality and quantity of learning and skills delivery and learner outcomes. With a proven track record of leading on major strategy implementation, having achieved outstanding results to time and within budget, you'll need to be used to analysing and reporting on learner, financial and quality data to improve performance.

Due to the extensive travel associated with this role, it is essential you hold a current, clean UK driving licence.

Closing date for applications: Tuesday 7th October 2014
